In summation I feel that my experience over the past nine months has made me a better young man in society, at home, and at work. In my short 24 years of life this has by far been the best decision I have ever made for myself! I can't thank everyone enough for the undying support that has been provided for me! I'm looking forward to the journey that lies ahead towards earning my black belt!

I called Faust's USA Karate, had a conversation and was impressed. Afterwards I called a few others and did not find the same level of enthusiasm as I had received from Faust's USA Karate. When I took my first class I sensed nothing but good people. I realized I can't go wrong. Here I am today.

How Karate has transformed me: To sum it up I am still married, a responsible productive person in society, a great dad, and that is only the beginning, the growth in all aspects of my life has been enormous, I have learned so much more than a paragraph could ever say. I have learned to get outside myself by giving back to our community, and to help people the way all the people at the dojo have helped me, with humility, honesty and sincerity.

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I enjoy training at USA Karate. Each time I leave the dojo, I am uplifted and renewed. You are truly the differentiating factor between an exceptional school and the average school. Your positive modus operandi and motivational style are the primary reason I attend classes, closely followed by your superior martial arts expertise. I am so glad that my children and I have "stumbled" upon your school. I always tell other moms how positive the USA Karate expereince has been for us.

My USA Karate expereince is benefiting me in the following ways:
1. It is improving my physical fitness by providing the opportunity to exercise on a regular basis through attending class and through practice at home. The stretching has helped with the tightness in my left leg that was a result of an accident years ago. In addition, the talks about a healthy lifestyle are making me watch my diet.
2. The ideals promoted by the dojo match the ideals that I have held for years, so I'm very comfortable attending the classes.
3. Some of the teaching techniques used in the classes have given me some ideas that I can use in my own classes at RIT. One idea that I have tried recently is the concept of taking small groups aside and working with them on skills.

I have always found martial arts intriguing, ever since I was a child. It is important, however to include a healthy philosophy. If we don't, martial arts has the potential of being dangerous. USA Karate incorporates that necessary philosophy into its plan. Physically, we train our bodies to be fit; mentally we train our minds to be sound. Self defense is an important aspect to remember. We are in this realm, not to harm another human being intentionally but to protect ourselves and our loved ones from being harmed. This is my second time training with Sensei Faust. Previously I had to discontinue my training due to a medical condition. Now that that is no longer relevant, I returned to my training. I am very glad to be back and look forward to achieving "Black Belt Fitness."

Thumbs up for Faust's USA Karate for hosting a demonstration of martial arts at Minerva DeLand School in Fairport, which raised $600 for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children/New York Branch.

Thank you for everything you have done for me. Karate has always been a big part of my life and has helped define my character. As the advisor said, I'm sure that positive effects of karate will help me succeed not only in University, but also in the rest of my life.

I wish to express my appreciation for a wonderful experience in your Tai-Chi class! I was able to attend your class recently and I enjoyed it very much. Ever since visiting China last year, I had a desire to learn more about this amazing method of strenghtening body and soul.
Unfortunately, I had to discontinue the class this fall because of a conflict that I was committed to long before I enrolled in the Tai-Chi class. I am at this time using and enjoying the tape you recorded at home. I hope to be able to return to the class one day in the future. Until then, thanks again for a wonderful experience.
Sincerely,
Karin V. Mayo, currently Pittsford, NY
My name is John Ng. I trained at USA Karate for 7 years through High School and College, during which time I earned my black belt and taught Saturday morning classes. When I first started I was overweight, lacked the confidence to speak up, and had average grades at school. All that has changed and it is in this school that I learned how to change all of that.
These days I work in Washington DC, as a Senior Auditor for one of the four largest Accounting Firms in the world. I graduated from college with two Business degrees and a Masters degree. I’m leading projects at diverse clients around the country, while also fostering the development of staff team members. All of this was made possible because of what I learned at this school.
Looking back I realize how much I’ve learned here. Not only was there the martial arts that I enjoyed, I learned how to respect myself and others, I found the confidence and courage to reach for any goal I desired, I attained the focus and discipline needed to get things done. These traits carried over into my everyday life, where getting high grades, achieving Eagle Scout, getting into School, getting Jobs, all became a realm of possibility.
I truly feel that USA Karate provided me with the positive attitude, the confidence, and ability to do all of this.
Currently I’m interviewing candidates for our firm, and it’s becoming more poignant on how much more is being demanded of college graduates as they search for their careers. Candidates are expected to have good grades, they are expected to have extracurricular activities and volunteer work, and they are expected to have been a leader in an organization. What really separates any of these candidates is their attitude, their character, their confidence and drive. What I want, is an individual that can be relied on in the team, and can make a difference.
My college and high school activities are no longer on my resume. However my Black Belt, and the fact that I enjoyed teaching classes at this school, are always there, and they always open up doors wherever I go.
I was challenged at USA Karate, and it was here that I improved myself to become who I am today.

Dear Sensei,
I just wanted to share with you our incredible week?
Wednesday, March 28th - I must admit I was VERY nervous about taking my first test. I knew what was expected of me, but I was unsure of the atmosphere I would be coming into.
Walking out onto the mat, I was immediately caught up in the energy of my classmates. I started to get a little nervous on the floor, but when you and the leadership team joined us, I knew what you told me was true. I was in good hands?. Having you, my classmates and the leadership teams support throughout the test turned a nervous situation into an empowering experience. My nerves were turned into an intense focus and drive to complete the task at hand. Your words of wisdom and guidance provided the confirmation and served as a reminder of why I was there and what I was working for. Thank you [all] for a great experience, I benefited so much that I have asked my husband to attend my next testing session!
Thursday, march 29th - I was unable to bring Alica to karate, as our two other children were sick. My husband, Mark, [reluctantly] agreed to take Alica. Karate was in his words your thing, not mine??
I had mentioned to you and several of the leadership team members my main reasons for Alica joining the dojo. Alica was in need of an activity that supported her energy, but also provided structure, focus and self-control. I had persuaded my husband into letting her attend the trial membership in hopes that he would see that this was the out let she needed, but he was reluctant to be convinced.
When Mark came back, it was as if a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. You see, he had been really worried about Alica’s ability to focus and have self control. In bringing her to class, he had seen first hand what I had been talking about. In the structured environment of the dojo, Alica had focus and self control. She was respectful and confident. My husband, whom I might add is very had to impress, was EXTREMELY impressed and stressed how much he enjoyed watching Alica. He was also very impressed with Sensei Teal’s approach to teaching and knew that he was one of the key elements that would assist in her success as a Little Champion. He INSISTED that Alica continue to come to the dojo weekly.
Lastly, and this is the most surprising thing, he entertained the idea of coming to visit the dojo. I am not sure where it will go, but just by virtue of the fact that he even mentioned it to me, was an indication that he understood what it means to Alica and I and the possibility of what it could mean for him.
I can’t express how much being members of USA Karate means to our family as a whole and in the 3 short months that we have been here, what a difference it has made in our lives.
Thank you.

"I have know Sensei Kathy Faust for 17 years. My background as a teacher in the Fairport district enables me to view our relationship in a educational way. The curriculum taught at USA Karate is of high moral fiber in teaching and modeling respect, courtesy, honesty, humility, self-control and perseverance. I have reached my Black Belt and beyond and the training's given me confidence and determination to strive through challenges in my life."
- Peg Schoenfeld, Fairport Teacher at J.A.
"Throughout my life, karate has influenced the way I think, act and feel. It has been one of my most influential moral compasses since I first began to learn its values, has helped me to become a success in many areas of my life, and has given me a continuingly dynamic look at my own life and the lives of those around me."
- Zach Martin, Victor
"USA Karate has been a place where Alec not only learns karate, but also learns life skills that will help him be a better person and make the best choices in his life."

“The Ladies classes are a hit with me. The last class was very valuable, it taught me what a predator looks for in a victim. This information really made me wonder just how safe am I? Don’t be a victim! Pay attention to your surroundings.”
- Kathy Malboeuf, Fairport
"Since beginning months 5 ago he has a vested interest in his success like never before. Zachary wants to do well for the sake of doing his best. His personal commitment and motivation has evolved as a result of the many positive messages he receives at your Dojo. The consistency of dedication, compassion and respect demonstrated by each and every staff member is refreshing and offers him fantastic role models in a safe and energetic environment. Thank you Sensei for the standards you have established at the Dojo. USA Karate has become a great partner with our family."
-Patti Gates, Victor
"I can truly say that from the very start the USA Karate experience has been great. The spirit of the partnership and working together is demonstrated in every class. The students and staff are warm and genuinely encouraging to all newcomers. This is an unusual quality and offers a glimpse into the lives of those who have affiliated themselves with the school."
-John Harbaugh
"On top of the health benefits of taking Karate, it is also teaching me a stronger sense of discipline that I really need. I have been able to coast through most of my life squeaking by most obstacles with little effort. But Sensei Faust certainly doesn't let me get away with anything without letting me know about it and making sure I am doing what I am supposed to be doing."
-Nate Brown
